History of PhotoTelesis

 

Recognized as the leader in tactical imagery transmission, PhotoTelesis has a proud 19 year history of serving a diverse government customer base.  Monochrome and color images captured by PhotoTelesis products and a variety of other imaging sensors can be transmitted over government secure radios, government satellite circuits, and commercial cellular and satellite radios.

Throughout its history, PhotoTelesis has been at the leading edge of technology development and application in the Command, Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C2ISR) area. With over 2,000 installed systems, the company's comprehensive products and system integration ability has provided image capture and transmission capability for:

PhotoTelesis was founded in August 1985, incorporated in January 1987, and quickly achieved a strong name recognition within the DoD and Federal communities. In August of 1995 PhotoTelesis was acquired by Texas Instruments Defense Segment, and in June of 1997 Texas Instruments Defense and PhotoTelesis were purchased by Raytheon. In February of 1999, PhotoTelesis was repurchased by the original owner, and in June of 2000 created it's sister company, e-Watch.
