The Lightweight Video
Reconnaissance System (LVRS) Out Station contains a small,
rugged, hand-held processor and a modular Day and Night Sensor
that gives the scout the ability to do reconnaissance, battle
damage assessment (BDA), and to capture, save, send and receive
images 24 hours a day. It is lightweight, does not degrade the
scout’s mobility, and the one button image capture and transmit
capability means quick response in difficult situations. The
imagery is captured, compressed and transmitted over existing
military tactical communication channels to provide near
real-time intelligence to gain and retain the initiative,
expedite the decision-action cycle, and facilitate the
establishment of a common operating picture of the battlefield
at the tactical level.
