MIT-420R (Ruggedized) Mobile Image
Transceiver
The PhotoTelesis MIT-420R
Mobile Image Transceiver is a ruggedized laptop bundled with PhotoTelesis’ ICE
software and SCC-100/A communications card. The MIT-420R is the solution for
fast and reliable transmission of imagery and data files over noisy tactical
radio nets. It provides image capture, image compression and decompression,
image processing, and the ability to send and receive data in a rugged
lightweight portable package.
The
standard configuration is a 1.3 GHz Pentium machine with multi-media support
including sound, modem, Ethernet, wireless network, sync/async communications
interfaces, and DVD CD/RW. The ICE software application allows you to capture,
compress, receive and transmit images over multiple nets using a variety of
protocols.
These protocols include, PhotoTelesis Tactical
Communications (PTAC) and MIL-STD 188184 (ViaSat) for error-free data
transmission over high bit error rate communications channels, TACO2 for
interoperability with other NITFS platforms, and Zmodem for compatibility with
other computers using this universal communications standard. The software and communications cards
interface with government CRYPTO hardware (KY57/58, STU-III, KG-84, KY-99/99A
and KIV-7) and embedded CRYPTO radio systems (PSC-5, LST-5 Family, PRC-117F,
PRC-148, PRC-150 (C), SINCGARS, MSHR).
The MIT420R also interfaces with telephone systems using the Zmodem
protocol and its internal modem. MAPI protocol is also supported allowing
communications over mail networks such as TCP/IP and CDPD connections. The
MIT-420R is compatible with the Navy’s F-14 FTI (Fast Tactical Imagery) and
FTI-II (F/A-18) programs along with the Army’s LVRS (Lightweight Video
Reconnaissance System). (MIL-STD 188-184 communications require an optional
ViaSat Data Controller.)
The MIT-420R’s image processing capability features a
full motion video window, image capture and display support, TWAIN acquire, and
NITFS 2.1 support. Other supported file
formats include BMP, JPEG, TIFF, and PhotoTelesis Wavelet. Video capture and
display requires an optional USB or PCMCIA framegrabber.
The MIT-420R is the turn-key solution for your imaging
and communications needs.
